Tasting notes

Blackberry, black plum, and dried cherry lead into a full-bodied palate with depth, structure, and a long, persistent finish. Firm but polished tannins signal excellent aging potential. The Raven showcases the power and elegance of estate-grown Petit Verdot.

Winemaking notes. Fruit was destemmed and crushed to bins, lightly sulfited, and inoculated with BDX yeast. A warm three-week fermentation enhanced color and tannin extraction. The wine aged 18 months in French oak, about one-third new, building richness and complexity.

Vintage notes. The 2020 growing season delivered warm days, moderate rainfall, and extended hang time, conditions that allowed Petit Verdot to develop its hallmark depth and structure. Clean, concentrated fruit with vibrant color and firm tannins made the vintage well suited for a powerful, age-worthy wine.
