'Vitraux' Red 2022

Tasting notes

Rich aromas of plum, cherry, and subtle oak deepen into a velvety palate with notes of dark fruit and spice. Smooth tannins and a lingering finish define this expressive red.

Winemaking notes. Grapes were de-stemmed and crushed to bins, lightly sulfited, and inoculated with BDX yeast. A warm three-week fermentation built structure before 22 months aging in French oak, roughly one-third new. Estate-grown Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc anchor the blend, with Merlot and Malbec adding roundness.

Vintage notes. The 2022 season offered a balanced mix of spring rainfall and warm, dry late-summer weather, allowing all four varietals to ripen evenly. The fruit showed excellent color, concentration, and structure: ideal building blocks for a layered, expressive Bordeaux-style blend.
