October One Vineyard
Bob and Loree Rupy named October One Vineyard for their wedding anniversary; the Bluemont estate and Leesburg wine shop focus on single-vineyard, single-varietal expressions of Loudoun fruit.
Single-vineyard Viognier and Merlot
October One Vineyard takes its name from Bob and Loree Rupy’s wedding anniversary. It’s a small, personal detail that telegraphs the project’s sensibility. The Rupys split the experience between a Bluemont estate and a Leesburg wine shop, building a portfolio of single-vineyard, single-varietal wines alongside a few carefully constructed blends.
Portfolio
The lineup centers on Albariño, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Viognier, with blends like the “Rescue” rounding out a tightly edited list.
Recognition
Gold for the Cabernet Franc at the 2024 Loudoun Wine Awards. The 2022 Albariño earned a Governor’s Case selection at the 2024 Virginia Governor’s Cup, and the “Rescue” blend took Gold at the 2022 Virginia Governor’s Cup. Best Albariño and Best Viognier in Loudoun 2023.
