Tasting notes

Red berries and cherry, pepper and roasted coriander. Fruit, spice, and a hint of smokiness.

Winemaking notes. Barrel fermented with commercial yeast following a three-week maceration, then taken through full malolactic fermentation. Aged 16 months in 225-liter French and Hungarian oak barrels, 20% new, and sterile filtered before bottling. One of the first wines fermented and aged at Good Spirit Farm.

Vintage notes. The 2021 season offered favorable growing conditions with no serious frost events and mostly hot, dry weather.

Accolades. Gold, 2026 Virginia Governor’s Cup.
