Cabernet Franc 2020
Produced by Two Twisted Posts Winery · Purcellville, Virginia
Tasting notes
Red currant, black cherry, and raspberry compote lead the nose, accented by cedar, sweet tobacco, and vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, showing dark plum, dried herbs, and gentle spice. A savory, pepper-tinged finish lingers gracefully.
Winemaking notes. Cabernet Franc underwent full malolactic fermentation before aging in a mix of American and French oak, combining first-year and neutral barrels. Extended barrel maturation refined tannins and integrated oak influence. The wine was further matured in bottle prior to release.
Vintage notes. The 2020 season unfolded with gradual ripening and extended cool periods that fostered layered complexity in Cabernet Franc. Warm midsummer conditions followed by crisp fall nights supported structure and freshness. Lower yields concentrated flavor.
