The story

Genevieve, the flagship Bordeaux blend

The dream began on Aimee and Todd Henkle’s 1998 honeymoon in Bordeaux, took the couple to Virginia in 2007, and finally landed in September 2012 when they purchased Lost Creek. Todd serves as winemaker and vineyard manager; Aimee is a sommelier and runs Echelon Wine Bar in downtown Leesburg, giving the estate a dual presence on farm and in town.

Meridian Ridge Vineyard

The estate’s Meridian Ridge Vineyard in Bluemont was planted in 2017 to 5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Tannat. The elevation-driven site anchors the program’s 100% Loudoun-fruit identity.

Recognition

The 2021 Allure earned Gold at the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Cup. More than ten wines have earned 90+ points from James Suckling, including the Petit Verdot and the “Allure” at 93 points, the Cabernet Franc and “Trinity” at 92, and the Chardonnay and Tannat at 91. The estate is also a Decanter Magazine favorite, recognized for the quality of its wines.
